The Insurance Awareness Award is a national CAIW recognition designed to promote a positive image of the insurance industry through public engagement and education. This award celebrates local associations that organize information-based initiatives to enhance public understanding of insurance and encourage member involvement.

The CAIW Public Speaking Award recognizes exceptional communication skills, confidence, and leadership within the insurance industry. Each year, a winner is chosen from our local association to compete nationally, showcasing their ability to engage, inform, and inspire. This award highlights the importance of effective public speaking in professional growth and industry advancement.

The CAIW Rising Stars Award recognizes emerging leaders in the insurance industry. Each year, local associations, including IANL, can nominate a deserving member who demonstrates exceptional initiative, influence, and potential to shape the industry’s future.

Janet Taylor was a remarkable individual whose passion for the insurance industry and dedication to her community left a lasting impact. Though she didn’t live in Newfoundland and Labrador for long, her untimely passing at a young age created a void that can never be filled. Janet was deeply involved in every aspect of the industry—she was an instructor with the Insurance Institute, actively participated in numerous committees and seminars, and always stepped up to contribute wherever she could. Saying “no” was never in her vocabulary. She was an adjuster at ClaimsPro and also dedicated her time as a volunteer firefighter, embodying a true spirit of service. 

In her memory, the Janet Lynn Taylor Memorial Award is presented to an IANL member who demonstrates outstanding dedication and commitment to the insurance industry through active involvement in the local association and service on other industry boards. Sponsored by ClaimsPro, this award recognizes leadership, engagement, and a passion for the industry. In respect to the family, Janet’s daughter, Brittany Bell, is informed of the recipient.
